Martin Parr Research

I chose to research Martin Parr as he was one of the photographic influences for the project. What I have noticed by looking at Martin Parr's work is that all of his images are very saturated and are very natural looking as if they are just regular family photos. I can see the influence of Martin Parr's work within the imagery within the collection. Not a lot of his work looks staged which I think makes them better documentary images.

Runway Images

These are some of the runway images from Graduate Fashion Week 2013 where the collection was first shown.

Marc Jacobs - Daisy Advertising

Part of our main inspiration for this project is the Marc Jacobs 'Daisy' adverts shot by Juergen Teller. What I like about this work is that it links very well with our ideas for this project as they are set in a field location with long grass and using two models, which is something that we want to explore within our images. Both the models in these images have a very natural look. I like that the models slightly contrast with each other when looking at specific features. I also like that the models bounce off each other and that the whole image has a natural sisterhood feel to them. This is the type of style and feel that we want to portray with our images.

Makeup Board

Styling Board

The images for these boards have all been sourced from Pinterest and have been taken from a board that I created to add all the images for inspiration for this project. The images reflect our ideas for the project and visually reflect the style of images, location and look of our model.

For the makeup we want our model to be natural looking and either have no makeup on or look like they have got hardly any on. I feel that this fits in with the natural.
For the location we wanted to use somewhere like a field with long grass and flowers.

Reflection on the group work: When working on the Pinterest board for the inspiration I had to create my own board because the person in our group who was going to set up a board was unable/wouldn't add anyone else on there so they could add what they found which was good inspiration for the project. What I did was create my own board and gave everyone the link to it.
