Final Evaluation

Research: When it came to my research I found that researching about the brand and coming up with my idea quite easy however I found it quite difficult to find photographers who has done previous work in the style and theme of how I wanted my images, this was because I came up with my idea when researching on Pinterest and looking at previous We Are Cow campaigns. I did some photographer research which was beneficial to my work however I only used the shooting styles and techniques in their work as reference and inspiration for my shoot. 

Shooting and Final Images: When it came to doing my shoot for this project I found it very enjoyable as I knew my model well and I knew what I wanted from her. I feel that my images link to the brand and I have backed up my idea with relevant research that I found. I feel that if I did the shoot again I would maybe use a few more locations and experiment more with lighting. I would have experimented more in this way however on the day of the shoot there wasn't a great deal of natural lighting to use as the weather wasn't great and I felt that this affected some of my images.

Overall I felt that the project went well and that I have relevant research to my ideas and themes and that I have shown my development and thought process throughout my project.

Advertising Mock Ups




These are my advertising mock ups that would be instore. My ideas for these would be that they would slide upwards showing each image. I think that these being in store would make people see what type of clothing is sold.


These are my advertising mockups for outdoor such as ads held, billboards and bus stops. This would make people recognise the brand and would make people go into store and also online. These would be put in place in the cities where the brand is sold as it would get more peoples attention to the brand and get them going into the store.

This is a mockup of a magazine spread this would be in magazines which were targeted at the same target market as We Are Cow. This would include magazines such as Elle, I-D, Dazed etc. This would mean that it would reach the target audience of the brand and make people more aware of the new collection and also make people more aware of the brand and they style of clothes they sell.

This is a GIF that I made advertising the new collection this would be placed on the homepage of the We Are Cow website and also on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Using social media would target a wider audience and would also target the customer of the brand as these are the social media sites that they use and would make people more aware of the new campaign and collection.

This is my banner design for the new collection which would be on the We Are Cow website. I chose to replicate how We Are Cow designs their website and with the banner being simple it would navigate to a new page where there would be all of the new clothing in the collection. I chose this image as it was similar to the type of image that they use in their advertising as it is simple yet eye catching.

Final Images







These are my final images for this project. I decided to make my images into diptychs for my final images as this is something that We Are Cow does and I wanted to replicate this in my images. I chose to add a colourful patterned background as I thought that it tied my images together and made my images more appealing. The images I selected were my favourite from my shoot and I thought that they linked to my theme the most.

These are the clothes that I used for my shoot. I felt that these fit my idea well and would look good with my choice of action. I did't get anyone to help with the styling for my shoot as I did't feel that I needed one for the type of shoot that I was doing however if I were to be doing this for industry I would need a stylist. All of these clothes were what the model owned and some were also from We Are Cow.

We Are Cow: Spring Summer '14 Video

This is one of my main inspirations for my shoot as I liked the relaxed, everyday feel to the video and I thought that I would try to do the same style in my shoot. This video really caught my eye because it is very simple and it gets the point across easily and it's a bit different to other work that I have seen for a campaign. This is the type of style that I would like to go for within my images and I feel that I could make this look well in my shoot.

Photographer Research: Jessi Lambert - Flickr


These are some images from a photographer that I found on Flickr. Even though the theme and style behind these images isn't directly linked to the project these images really caught my eye and I really liked the way the images were shot and the location. I feel that the model looks very relaxed in the images and this is the kind of style that I am going for and I feel that I could make the clothing for my shoot work with this kind of location and theme. Personally I feel that this would work and this is something that I am going to explore with my imagery. 

Photographer Research: Kristian Schuller - Campari 2013






These images for the 2013 Campari Calendar are very eye catching and the theme and consistency are communicated very well throughout the images. I really like the use of colour within these images and I feel this really brings the images together as a collection. I feel that the way these images has been shot, the locations used and the model really fit the themes and communicate the brand that the shoot is for. I feel that these are a good selection of images. I am considering using some of the elements is these photographs within my work.

Photographer Research: Shaun Alexander - Guess





What I like about these images is the use of contrast within the images adding depth and it really makes the model stand out from the background. I think the location fits really well with the the theme of the images. I also like the mixture of a location based shoot and with what looks like a studio based shoot. I feel that these images communicate the theme of the campaign and all the images look really well as a collection. This is the type of style that I am condidering going for within my shoot.
